Not to be outdone by Dogecoin, Bitcoin announces the BIT-1 satellite.

In a recent tweet, Bitcoin announced that they plan to send a small smallSat to the moon on a ULA Atlas V rocket. This decision came about after Dogecoin announced the DOGE-1 mission. This satellite will be a large bitcoin with two solar panels, a small propulsion system, and a laser that will shine the bitcoin logo on to the moon whenever wanted.  On twitter, the creator of the satellite and majority holder of bitcoin, Catthew Mable said

So we saw what dogecoin was doing, and we needed something to counter that, so we conceived BIT-1. We knew that in order to spread bitcoin to even more people we needed to beat doge as the first currency in space. There is really no practical use for the satellite, but it'll hopefully bring some more people back to bitcoin.

BIT-1 is starting a new space race between cryptos in space.
