SpaceX to put sn16 on top of sn15 for hypersonic flight test

Starbase, TX — Today, SpaceX announced that they will take sn16 on a hypersonic flight, but in an unusual way. In a tweet from SpaceX CEO Melon Eusk, he stated that "We might use sn16 for a hypersonic flight test by using sn15 as a booster to get it up to speed". This came as a massive surprise to the entire space community after thinking that sn15 was retired for good. Here to elaborate more on this is head raptor technician, JT Yoonec

So, we have these 2 starship prototypes just sitting around, so why not do something with them! Our plan is to put a total of 6 raptors on sn15 to accelerate the extra mass, and only have 3 vacuum raptors on sn16 for efficiency. This will only be a suborbital flight test, reaching an altitude of 175km before both vehicles land back at the Boca Chica landing site.

At Starbase, people have already seen parts for this version of starship come together, estimating a launch date of about 2 weeks. It is still unclear how they will make sure the rocket doesn't tip over with the weight of 6 raptors pushing something weighing 5,000t over the area of a meter, but we will see when SpaceX inevitably works everything out.
